Santeri Ojala’s ’shredding’ videos, recently pulled from YouTube, are back up here. As an occasional musician and full-time Spinal Tap fan, I’m delighted.
When a YouTube account has three or more complaints from copyright holders – regardless of the legitimacy of those claims – the account is suspended.
In Stanford University’s words, “A parody is a work that ridicules another, usually well-known work, by imitating it in a comic way.” That definition fits the Shredding videos as tightly as spandex stretches over Derek Smalls’ foil-wrapped cucumber.
